Welcome to our podcast! We talk about our lives, our media binges, and those things you always loved when you were little, but don't quite remember.

Teaching English in China

My BIL and his wife left today to teach English in China for a year.

I went to their going away party two days ago... and none of the people there knew about the "great fire-wall of China." I mentioned it twice to laughter each time. After the second time I explained that it wasn't a joke... but they were sure they could get Netflix. No, you can't.

Then it was suggested to bring a hard-drive with you, and download things while you're there... no guys... you don't understand censorship in other countries.

After much explaining and talk of VPNs, I've come to the conclusion that I will end up mailing them a USB full of new shows in a 6 months. Here's hoping China doesn't want to take Are You The One and Bob's Burgers away from them.
